Day 1 Blogtember Challenge

(I'm really hot right now so I posted this picture of me in the snow to cool off)

I am so excited to be participating in the blogtember challenge! I'm not sure if I'll be able to hit all of the days… but I'll be attempting to do at least one a week.

So today is the introduction…
Introducing myself has always been a little awkward for me. Situations with strangers can either make me extremely hyper & inappropriate, or quiet and sullen. I can portray all of those traits at times, but it's NOT ok to act like that when you're meeting someone new. I can come off a bit weird. Do you remember when Cory and Topanga were working on a project and she drew a read heart around her face in lipstick? That was really strange. I can come across like that sometimes.

ANYWAY - My name is Lynn Raye. I'm married to the best man on earth & together we adopted the craziest dog. I work in the social services field and I laugh a lot to keep from burning out. Someday I want to attempt grad school just to drive myself even more over the edge. Jesus is my best friend & has been since I was fourteen. My hobbies are coffee, singing songs, reality TV, thrift stores, failed DIY, green beans, plants, & sitting on the couch. When I got married I moved to a small city that no one has ever heard of. For six months I fought with & cursed at this city. I hated WB & WB hated me. This summer, I had a change of heart. I decided to force myself on all of North Eastern Pennsylvania and see what happens. This blog is about being a newlywed, following Christ, finding my purpose, thrifting, & making friends with NEPA.

Thanks for visiting.
Can't wait to e-meet all of you.
xo, Lynn Raye

I tell him it helps me realize I'm not a crazy as I think I am. Ha! And thrift stores are my jam! Nice meeting you!!

  7. Lynn Raye you are so cute! I too feel the exact same way about introductions (girl, you get me- they can be extremely uncomfortable!). Grad school... I am in the same boat- do I really want to see if I can go crazy before even reaching a point where a mid-life criss could be possible? Who knows- can't wait to connect with you more through the blogtember challenge!

  8. I am glad I found you through the link-up! Lynn Raye, this is the most awesome intro! Yes, I remember that moment when Topanga was just a taaaad freaky! haha.
So cool that you are working in social services! I work as a pediatric nurse practitioner with children who are often neglected or abused so I too have been trying to keep from burning out!
I am soon to be married in about 6 weeks, so I love that you shared some things about being a newlywed… I am nervous about moving halfway across the country where my fiancĂ© lives in Texas but at the same time, excited for a new adventure.

  10. I definitely laughed while reading this intro! I love it. And I loved Boy Meets World growing up-that was right up there along with Sabrina The Teenage Witch. But anywho, looking forward to sharing this challenge journey with you!

  11. Lynn Raye,
It's so nice to meet you - sort of - and I liked your lil tid bit about Topanga - hilarious! I know what you mean about needing to laugh a lot in order to not go insane at your job. I absolutely hate my job as a social media manager, and cannot wait to learn more as a junior web developer so I can BECOME one! Glad to hear that you're enjoying your new home now! Looking forward to following along with you during the #blogtember challenge!

  13. I know what you mean, I'm not sure I'll be able to update every day, but I'm gonna do my best and try. And there is no such thing as a failed DIY, you attempted it- that's already a win! If it didn't come out the way you wanted it to, that's ok. You just try again. :)

    Nice to meet you!!!

  16. You mentioned Cory and Topanga and so now we're best friends basically. :) haha but really, greatest show there ever was! Glad you're joining in on the fun!
I couldn't find your email to respond to your comment on my post. You're definitely not the only "mother" out there! haha

ps: your comments are on a no-reply blogger setting, if you google how to fix that, I can easily respond to your comments via email :)

  17. Hahahaha!!! Failed DIY, green beans, coffee and sitting on the couch. Let's be friends. PS - if you haven't tried it yet, you should try mac & cheese with green beans. Good for some unknown reason.
